A life audit for women.

What a life audit is

A life audit is an honest inventory: what you spend your days doing, what you've gotten good at, and what actually fills you up. Most women have never written theirs down. The work is invisible — so the skills are too.

What is mental load?

Mental load is the invisible work of running a family: remembering the dentist, noticing the shoes are too small, planning dinner, tracking who needs what and when. Doing the task is one part. Keeping the whole list in your head is the load — and because nobody sees it, nobody counts it.

How to explain mental load to your husband

  1. Pick a calm moment, not the middle of a hard day.
  2. Show him the list. Write down one week of what you track, plan and remember — not just what you do.
  3. Talk about whole jobs, not tasks: "you own the paperwork," not "can you sign this one."
  4. Agree that owning a job means noticing it too, without reminders.
  5. Check in after two weeks and adjust.

The audit helps with step two. Its receipts put names on the planning, money, scheduling and people work you already do, so the list is written down and counted.

Why do one

How Own Yours works

  1. Answer short "receipts" across five areas of life — 0–5, 5–10 or 10+ times.
  2. Add a note on the ones you're proud of, if you like.
  3. Get your result type, your skillset, résumé lines, career ideas and a certificate.

It's free, takes about 15 minutes, and your answers stay on your phone. No account, no tracking.
